Best configuration to record video+music

I'd like to record some video of me playing guitar. Nothing fancy, but I'd like to keep a decent audio and video quality. I have a crappy audio card in my computer so I think the easiest way to go is using the computer for the video, with a good usb cam and using the ipad for audio recording, maybe with a good usb mic (apogee, maybe). Could I have problem syncing the two in an editor or should it go smoothly. Are there better way to proceed ?
