These tales of ridiculously expensive blinged-out iPads tend to irk and entertain with equal measure, but here goes anyway! If you happen to have a spare £5 million or $8 million knocking around doing nothing, and fancy a sparkly iPad 2, and I mean really sparkly, then MacStories has a feature on an iPad 2 that is right up your street. Yes, Liverpool, UK jeweller Stuart Hughes is at it again, with his latest bejewelled Apple accessory, the iPad 2 Gold History Edition, a 3G iPad 2 covered in (deep breath), 12.5 cts of flawless diamonds, 53 individually set sparkling gems, and a solid 24ct Apple logo with rear section formed in 24ct gold weighing 2,000 grams. The front frame is made from the oldest rock in the world, Ammolite, which is over 75 million years old, and probably out of warranty by now. And, if that wasn’t enough, sections of a 65 million-year-old T-Rex’s thigh bone were splintered and shaved in to the Ammolite. The whole thing was then finished off with a single-cut 8.5ct flawless diamond inlaid in a platinum surround with 12 outer flawless diamonds.

Well it all sounds very nice, but like MacStories says, no blinged-out SmartCover? Anyway, if the lack of a SmartCover doesn’t put you off, click on the link to Stuart’s website below to snap the little beauty up!

awesome yet ridiculous at the same time. Awesome because the stuff its made out of but ridiculous that some people have this much money to waste on things like this instead of donating to a good cause.

There was a reason for the sumptuary laws in the medieval period. Flaunting wealth leads to riots....
Actually what's puzzling is why the jeweller thought it a good investment.

If you have that kindof money you can pay as well for someone to hold it for you.......
