Book from App store, how do I save it in iBooks?

I all,

I have gotten a book from the App store, the three musketeers. I expected the book to download straight into my iBooks library, but it didn't. How come? And is there any way I can place it there?

Note that I currently only have my iPad at my disposal, as my main iMac is going in for repair.

Some books are entire apps in themselves, rather than being ibooks bought in the ibook store. The apps usually use up a lot of your memory, especially if they are enhanced with video.
