Buy apps before the ipad?

I'm waiting around for my iPad2 to show up. An app that I want to buy is on sale right now. Can I just buy that app through my iTunes account and it will automatically sync onto the iPad2 whenever it comes?

Not if you buy them on your iphone. If you buy them on your ipad (ipad ed. of the app) then you'll be fine.
