Can i send an event on my calendar to others?

I am using a google calendar on my iPad 3. Syncing all seems to be working well between the iPad, pc and android phone. I would like to be able to email particular events to people but cant see a way of doing this as I don't seem to have the option to invite anyone to an event. Is there a setting I need to change anywhere?
