Can you hook up IPAD to Verizon Blackberry Tour for Wifi

I can't get it to work. Does anybody have an ipad running off their blackberry tour? Does your iphone need to be jail broken?

I tried PDANET and it could see my phone but it never actually fully connected and worked?

Any help would be appreciated.
