Can't sent a numbers file by mail

Good morning Forum
I'm a newbie here in this forum, so I'm not sure if there is already a thread for my question. It happens that whenever I try sending a Numbers worksheet by mail The mail stays in the sending state and it times out. I have no mail setup problems and if I change the file format to word it works fine. This only happens when I try sending the file with numbers format.
My operating system is up to date as well as my app.
A colleague of mine just downloaded the app and we try sending a numbers file and the we get the same result using his iPad .
Any help will be appreciated

Hi,
I just created a new file in numbers, filled some cells and mailed it. Worked nicely.
But the file had almost no data in it.

Have you tried mailing an empty file? Does it work?
How many worksheets does the file have?
