Can't sync movies from itunes to ipad

Okay so this is super frustrating! I purchased the HD version of Inglourious Basterds and it will NOT sync to my iPad 2. I keep getting this error no matter what I try :/
"Inglourious Basterds" was not copied to the iPad "My iPad" because you are not authorized for it on this computer.
How in the heck am I not authorized on my own computer?! I purchased the movie just like all the other movies and have no problem, but with this one???

Okay so after hours of research I finally found a simple solution. No idea why it works or why you even have to jump through these hoops, but here it is:
Rename all m4v files to be mp4
Remove and re-add the files to the iTunes library
Sync with the iPad now works
