The DCIM folder of my wife's iPad mini no longer contains a 100 or 100Apple folder (or similar name that I was used to seeing previously) when I view it on my Windows PC. Something happened on 22/08/2015 when she was importing images taken that day and creating a new folder to accommodate them. The DCIM folder now contains 25 folders, all of three numerals followed by four letters. 24 of the 25 folders appear to match those in the iPad 'All imported' album, separated by 'Event'. The other folder, 860OKMZO, contains the images in 'Camera roll'. Images taken subsequently continue to be placed in 860OKMZO.
I wish to return to the previous structure if anyone can help and should be most interested to learn how this might have happened.
