I searched but I only saw a 28 page count in a thread called tips and tricks and I did not want to go through all of those for my answer.

I'm trying to wean myself off my laptop and only use it for copying DVD's or converting DVD's to view on the iPad.

One thing it seams I still have to go back to the laptop for is to mark spam emails in my Gmail or Yahoo account so I don't have to see them in my iPad inbox again from the same spammer again.

I'm using pop email accounts currently as I have not had the time to change them over to IMAP. I saved threads on how to do it once I want to spend the effort to convert both accounts.

But for now is there a way on my iPad to indicate an email is spam? I know I can transfer the email to the spam folder but I don't know if that did the trick like it does on my laptop when I make the email spam.

Thx

You can access your mail via Safari, just like you do with a computer browser. In both cases you will be redirected to a tablet optimized page.

In Yahoo you can tap on your account name below the email list. Choose Options from the popup menu and you should see an option to mark the curently viewed email as Spam.

In GMail you have the option of reporting an email as spam. The option is found by tapping the button with the double down arrow, above and to the right of the email. I'm not certain what this will do, and don't have any email at the moment that I am willing to try it with.

Hope this helps.

I set up another folder for email that is accessed through Safari. Yes, the Yahoo account now has a shield at the bottom right that I can click on and it marks it as spam.

The Gmail has that drop down which one choice that says "report as spam". True, I don't no if this will automatically also tag future emails from same address.

Now I'm patiently awaiting another Viagra ad to test it out. I'm sure I won't have to wait that long

Thx again for your reply.

hahaha!

On another note: when I use the iPadforums app that I down loaded from the app store I can't seem to edit my post if I noticed a spelling error. If I try it I get an error message that says I need to increase my post by 3 letters (and I'm correcting between the quote marks)

Is there a way to edit a post?

I wind up having to go back through the ipadforum.net through Safari which clearly shows an edit icon at the bottom.
Is there a spell check feature in either?
I noticed emoticons in the ipadforums through the browser, but not in the ipad app?

Bottom line seems to be to access the ipadforum through browser as it seems at least to me to be easier then using the ipad forum app ( got tired of seeing the "there is a forum app available" so I was forced to download it)
Which do you use? I'm not crazy about the ipad forums app so far.
