does anyone know of a way or any program the will check email every 1, 2, 3 or 5 min on the ipad. thanks for the help

You might have a problem with some email providers as they stop you checking your account so frequently as an anti-spam measure.

The Ipad itself has a notification centre, but checks mail for arrival then notifies you. See that in Settings>Notifications. Then in Notifications Centre check that Mail notification slider (top right) is ON and then you will get options for Alert Style and Sound. Check the App store for any app to do this periodically as you suggest. Regards, Andrew
