Clearing Disk Space

Is there a way to clear disk space after e.g. I deleted a movie.
System Status doesn't show any extra free disk space after deletion and my iPad's disk is running full without a cause that way.

I don't like to connect to my MacBook to free disk space, should be able on a stand alone iPad?

Somebody's got the golden tip?
