I don't believe you can do that, because "third" isn't compatible with iPad yet.
I could be wrong but I don't think I am.

You'll have to copy and paste the long way around.

How about mass copying them from thunderbird as clickable links into an email to yourself, opening the email on your iPad, then open each link and making it a fav in safari.
