Cracked ipad2 screen

Is it possible to replace the ipad screen? My kids were playing with it in the car. When my husband went to open the door for them, our son dropped it on the ground. We have only had it for about 2 months. The invisishield has done its job well!

Hi Jenn - welcome to the forum -

There are numerous threads already on this topic - please to do a search in the future - just a hint -

But your iPad should be still under warranty - right? Well if so, just take it to an Apple store, plead an accident and be humble, Apple will often just replace the device w/o question - will it work, not sure, but there is plenty of similar incidences in many threads here that confirm this decision - give it a try & good luck -

Just to reinforce what Giradman has said - most/all Members who have accidentally cracked or broken their iPad screens have found that Apple will replace the iPad on a once-in-a-lifetime basis. It's unofficial, unacknowledged and you have no 'rights' here, but Members have found that, as Giradman suggests, if you go humbly, politely and explain what happened you'll be offered a free replacement (so back up before you go). Sometimes the store front staff don't know or don't have the authority to do this so you sometimes might need to ask to see a Manager.

Hope it works out for you, that’s a bummer that it happened. As others have said just go to your local apple store and see what happens. Another member posted that the apple rep told them it's at their discretion to replace it or not; one thing they look at is your account to see if you have a habit of exchanging devices. If you do then chances are less likely that they may help you. Good luck!

My nephew seriously cracked his after aiming it at his the Girlfreind who inconsiderately ducked instead of catching it.
