I have a bad habit of figuring out how to do things, then forgetting how I did it and then I can't figure it put again.

How do I create accounts in Notes? Right now, in the iCloud account, I have a sub account I somehow created. I would like to have more sub accounts so I could be more organized. I have no idea how I created this account. I've been googling and searching for hours and can't figure it out. Please help!

Is it possible I did it on the computer in iCloud.com?

Thank you for asking this. It never occurred to me it was possible to have multiple folders in the same account. I'm still a bit leery of it, since there is no mention of it in Apple's literature (as far as I know), but it is probably safe enough.

You are right you probably did this by accident at the icloud.com site.

Notes are synced in iCloud to a special Notes folder in Mail. When I visited icloud.com > Mail and created a subfolder in the Notes folder, it showed up on the iPad very neatly. The way it so-neatly handled this is why I'm not too worried about it working well.

You can not see the Notes folder using the Mail app on the iPad. That is probably to keep you from accidentally messing up (deleting or moving) notes, and then wondering where they went.

Thanks. I thought I was going crazy. I didn't create the sub folder by accident, I just could not remember how I did it. I'm away from my computer now so I can't try it again. I wonder why you can't do it from the iPad.

It makes sense to me to be able to organize my notes in different categories. I guess if I want to be very organized I should use Evernote or Springpad instead!

Thanks again.

A.

No problem.

Use the tool you are most comfortable with; though I do prefer Evernote myself. I only use Notes as a sort of semi-temporary clip board.
