Delete "update app" without updating

I have two apps that the update destroys the reason for acquiring the apps. Can I remove these apps from my delete apps page permanently without updating? Or will I have to cherry pick for the rest of time being unable to use the "update all" button?

I'm afraid not, at least not with a stock ipad. You'll have to update your apps one at a time.

Thanks for the reply. I sort of figured that to be the case. I'll just have to be diligent to not use the "update all" button.
