Deleting songs and podcast directly

Is it possible to delete songs and podcast directly on the iPad? Or we have to connect it to iTunes and delete from there?

AFIK, unless someone knows some secret way of doing it that I am not aware of, you have to delete them from your iTunes and they will be removed from your iPad the next time you sync.
