Desk stand

I wanted a stand for my desk that sat nice and low so it would not block my iMac. I couldn't find anything that worked and was cheap. So I found some old ipe wood out in the garage and threw this together. I still have to sand and stain it but wanted to wait a couple of days to make sure it is the right design.

I am also thinking about installing a USB hub inside it. I am always running out of USB ports.

Very cool. Looks solid; wish I had the skills/tools necessary for this. It's sort of amusing that if you decided to market it you could probably make bank just because it looks solid/well-made and it's sturdy wood, and equivalent plastic or metal stands like the Compass are $30. What color are you going to stain it?

Thanks guys. It is a very simple design and easily made. If someone wants one and lives close by, bring the material and a couple of beers and I will build it for you. Ipe wood is very heavy and would cost a fortune to ship. Otherwise I would offer to ship one out to you.

Also I have some old barn board and framing. I am thinking about making one out of that for my garage seeing I have barn board wainscoting in my garage it would fit in nicely. Anyone have any ideas for different designs? I haven't had a lot of time to brain storm lately on new designs.
