Thank you Fleur. I enjoy going to these types of event; the buzz and good nature of the crowds is wonderful. TV and the cinema are great, but the atmosphere of being there is lost!

I will be watching everything else at home on TV with the family.

Apparently the BBC has been slated for its coverage, what a shame!

Yes, that is a shame. I see that Stephen Fry is a critic.

Great pictures Richard!

Originally we (husband & me) were meant to be going.....but he got taken ill a couple of weeks ago and ended up in hospital. Felt it might be too long to be on his feet all day. We did watch it on the tv and enjoyed the pageant on the Thames.
I did think the queen looked quite cold at times though; its incredible how long she stays on her feet at her age. Truly inspiring!

Stephen Fry, a very well educated man, but that doesn't usually come out well when he opens his mouth were the royal family are concerned!

IMHO, last night's concert was superb. It was well produced, and very well televised.
It was a great programme.

After tat, I'm looking forward to the Olympics. The opening ceremony should be spectacular.

Richard--Thank you so much. As I have gained a lot of friends here on this FORUM, from the UK--I feel that I have truly missed out on your Country-wide celebration. Your pictures really bring it close to us here in the States that can't seem to get to a TV on time to watch all of the coverage.

Your pictures are just beautiful--and looking forward to the upcoming Olympics!

Your friend from the USA--Skimonkey! :)

Hi Skimonkey. Thank you my friend for you kind comments. After yesterday's balcony appearance by the Royal family (The Duke of Edinburgh's absence was prominent and we all wish him well) reporters were interviewing members of the public. One couple was over here from the USA visiting friends. They were so so happy to have witnessed the weekend.

I do hope others willost pictures and memories of events they attended, such as street parties.

To all UK and Commonwealth members. Do you have any memories f Jubilee events you attended?

For example, street parties, village shows, or the lighting of beacon. What happened in your towns and cities?

The occasion was historic, andi am sure some of us in our fairly small community celebrated in some way.

We are looking forward to your posts here. :)
