I know this has been a problem in the past but the old threads don't seem to help me. I've got an iPad 2 5.01 with JB. I've used the Directv app for some time with both xcon and the Directv IPad patch from Cydia running. it's run fine until a couple of days ago when the app updated. Now the dreaded "app won't work on jailbroken devices" message comes up every time I open the app. Does anyone else have this problem or have a way to fix?

Sorry, but all you can do is wait for the xCon developer to update his tweak. You might try sending him an e-mail to see if (1) he knows about the update to DirectTV and (2) is working on it. I understand he is pretty quick at getting the updates out. Hopefully, it won't be long.

I just updated and realized this issue. I went to the directv Facebook page to post about it and got "yelled" at by people telling me "if you, used a legal, device you wouldn't have this problem"
Lol

Syndicated contact providers like Direct TV are required under contract to prevent the content they stream from being captured on the playback device.

Because a Jailbroken device can capture steaming content, they need to be vigilant and block your Jailbroken device from running their software.

Though I know the hacker who continues to work around their protection has been successful to date, at some point his effort will outweigh the benefit and it will stop working...

that makes sense, although I never used it in that way.

How do you send a developer a message? I didn't see contact info on the Cydia xCon app page.

Hope it helps.

The link for contact was disabled when I tried it. However, a new xCon beta update has been posted and it works perfectly. Oh by the way, I'm using an iPad 2 with 6.1 jailbreak.

You need to add the repo that includes it as a cydia source. Do a google search for n00neimp0rtant repo address (I don't know if I'm allowed to post a link here). Xcon beta will then appear in Cydia.
