Disable volume button?

I use a Smart cover, which I find works best when I hold the unit with it hinged over the top. This leaves the volume buttons on the bottom. I frequently will rest the bottom edge on something that will bump the volume control. It's pretty annoying.

I doubt there is a way to disable the buttons, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Any way to do this?

In a standard non-jail broken iPad it is not possible to disable the volume control. I can't think of any easy way to solve your problem, unfortunately.
