Happiness continues! I don't know why, but in the last days I managed to get the few dragons I was missing, including Bluefire and Sandstorm, and now I was just missing Firefrost. So I put Cold with Firefly in my EBI and... My first 48 hours!!! I guess might be rainbow or sun (it was bred at 8:00 AM), I don't care which one, I'm so excited. I'll just have Firefrost and two rares missing when the new dragons arrive, that's not bad for someone who's just been playing for a month or so! So I just wanted to share this happy dance with you all, since I know I'm getting the dragons so fast thanks to e hard work of people who post in this thread and others in these forums. Cheers.

I have the same thought. As is often the case with DV, I suspect that the early movers will incur higher cost than those who wait. Most of us will be eager to breed the new dragons as soon as possible - especially since BFS is tantalizing us with the early information and the delayed release (they are master manipulators). So we will rush in and breed and level up all the new metals, and probably try to get the new metal gold shrine just as fast as possible. Then, shortly after we accomplish those things, BFS will introduce something that makes the whole process immeasurably easier. For one thing, they need to do something to make the level 20 crowns attainable to those other than cheaters and the marginally crazy like Jack.

I would love to wait until going all in. But knowing myself (marginally crazy like Jack) I doubt that I will have the will power to refrain from breeding the new ones and taking them to level 15. But I am going to try and hold off from starting the new shrine grind.

Poppy, I think I'll follow your example.. Hold off on pushing for gold and use income to get new dragons. And just as I got all my islands landscaped, it looks like a renovation will come up. Also, I didn't see a mention that we'll probably have to sacrifice a habitat if we are at full capacity to buy a new one. Do you think they might increase the allowable number at each level? Number of habitats, that is? Kim

Edit 2: I posted a pic of my level 10 Lichen in the Speed Breeding Competition thread, if you're interested. I don't think I won anything, just letting you folks see it just in case or whatever. I'm really kind of holding out for a secret or Easter dragon.

Here's a quickly cobbled together Metal Island with a level 15 adult and level 3 baby of every metal dragon:

Most of the metalheads sell for $1.5M. The Magnetic dragon is a 4/4, which makes it a better coin generator than the Airs and Sandies.

BTW, got the new Lichen and Cactus on the first try also.

Did you upgrade the app cos it's in my market place. After the first metal but before you get to the second. Try clicking on the leaf icon on the bottom rhs it'll narrow it down for you.

Poppy, I have just had a look at your islands. You have all the new dragons and you are still breeding pairs of air and sandstorm for quick $. Did you buy all the new dragons or did you breed them? It is almost 10am here in Australia. I checked for updates at 1am, so for us, the update has been available for approx 9 hours. Not enough time to breed all of them, unless of course a quick gem trade off for early breeding! How sad, selling off existing habitats - I just can't bring myself to do it.

I bred all of the dragons (except the base Metal) and hurried them up with gems. I had prepared for this anticipated update in the following ways:

- saved gold coins, had about 270M
- saved gems, had about 250 (bought a few more)
- had at least one of every habitat with a base element dragon in it

So I was able to move at my preferred pace.

I'm now breeding Mags (Magnetic dragons) for coins. At $1.5M for a 4/4 time they'rea better deal than our old standbys.

I just want to have a little whinge before I go to bed. I spent a little time on the Facebook page this afternoon and I got so peeved at the amount of ppl just commenting 'add me' etc etc when so many others were asking for advice and getting ignored and I found I really had to hold back from commenting because it's Facebook and it would be me commenting with my real name etc. And then later when I jumped on to here (my comfort zone) I find a similar post. I find it rude. The absolute last thing I would do is to add someone who is just asking for others to give without offering anything in return ie conversation, tips, sharing excitement etc.
So I guess what I really want to say (from my iPhone!) is thanks all of you for being such a great community! Love you all x

I've been moving fast, but I think my math is OK - $1.5M for 8 hours vs. $500K for 4 hours. So Mags yield $187,500/hour while Airs & Sandies yield $125,000/hour. Going to miss those guys, but at least I can get rid of one of my Air habitats.

The only new dragon which brings something is the cactus one: 153 coins a min at level 15. All the rest, even with the boost is miserable, going from 37 to 56 coins/min.
Took the figures from Poppy s islands lol.
No new habitat, level still stuck at 30. You get awards wth XP which get lost in space.
I think i will just keep that one new habitat, breed one of each and those not fitting in the new habitat are going to HC. Not going to sacrifize a good earning earth or cold for those miserably paying new dragons.
All in all, am disappointed.

If you think about it these are all new base element dragons so I would expect them to be easy just like all the other base element dragons were pretty easy to attain .... So in the near future I would assume that these new base elements will open up a whole new world of possible hybrids and special or rare dragons like maybe diamond or other rares
