Duplicate contacts

Running ipad 2 on ios 7.03
I am having tons of duplicate contacts. Need help for avoid ipad from generating duplicate contacts AND how to remove/clean duplicates.

I have no contacts on icloud, if there is a way to clean duplicate contacts will be nice, i checked appstore for free apps got only some with limitation.

I don't know if this helps: for some time, I used Smart Merge - Duplicate Contacts Cleanup... I've noticed when looking for it, that it's free at the moment. I haven't used it for quite a while, so I really can't tell you if it's good.

Thanks for effort. That did not help much. I have one question : How can I erase all contacts at one click so I can import fresh from a file for example access data file and delete it . Thanks.

To bulk delete (or delete a lot) of messages at once, I have successfully used the iPhone app "ContactDel" ($.99, USD, link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/contactdel-delete-multiple/id399148990?mt=8). As you can see, one of the options is to delete all:

Good day everybody.
Finally I unchecked google mail and got no contacts at all, I will kill duplicates on google account then will check google account again. Hope this will help.
