Hi all i am new here so here goes, i have a load of dvd's on my shelves can anyone recommend a dvd converter so i can play them on my ipad

Thanks

I bought Cucosoft's DVD to iPad Converter ($29.99 USD). Works great and haven't yet had a DVD that won't convert. The videos play well within the iPad.

Any of the ones mentioned work, but are really are confusing if you dont know how to exactly use them. i ripped all my DVDs with Winx DVD Ripper Platinum. Its the best thing out there it only cost $40 and it bypasses any and all copyright protections on the disc. I used it to rip over 200 movies onto my computer. the best thing about is all the formats it has. you can select between many of the major formats, and a lot of ones you might never use.

all you have to do is select the ipad format and click start

Handbrake and dvd43. Awesomeness.

And there is a search function, use it!
There are many threads about DVD ripping.

I used Handbrake last weekend for the first time & found it very easy to use. it is pretty slow, though...I had other things to do & just left it to get on for an hour or so.

Pretty much any method is going to be slow. All that decrypting and encoding.

I found both Handbrake and AVS do a good job. Handbrake, however, results in a much smaller file size than AVS does. The quality on both I find to be the same.

Thanks for the info guys i'll let you know how i get on

AVS works OK but the file size it creates is much larger that Handbrake.
