DVDS to Ipad2 ?

Hi, im new to using the ipad2 just wondering if its possible to somehow put films on it from dvds I own?

I work nightshifts and often last hour or so can be abit quiet so thought id pop a few family guy episodes etc on from dvds I have. ALL LEGAL not downloaded or anything.

Just wondered how to go about it and some 'free' software I need etc? never done this on my iphone.

There are a wide variety of PC programs out there to transfer DVDs to an iPad. One of the current favourites - it's free - is 'Handbrake'. It has a special 'pre-set' for the iPad, so it's very easy to use, though somewhat slow.
