What's new

Everything to do with XMAS!

If you think back to how things were years ago, the Grotto was used so that Santa could have a smoke without the kiddies seeing him. ;)

Beautiful photos all!

Okay, it's time for Xmas avatar. I've waited patiently for Thanksgiving to be over. 30 sleeps to go, guys!

There was some chat in another thread about Christmas puddings. I don't particularly like the stuff, but I remember that my mother used to make them in November sometime. Rum, dark beer, and coins...yep coins went into it. She would boil sixpences, shillings and threepenny pieces to sterilize them and toss them in the Christmas pudding. Probably why I don't like the stuff very much, but it was kind of fun as a kid trying to get some candy money without busting a tooth.

Any other weird rituals out there?

I love Xmas pudding now because I make them myself and put into them what I like. Makes for a better pudding. Unfortunately, after that huge turkey, lamb, beef dinner, there is no space for the pudding. Lol.

We sterilise £1 coins and put them in

Our 'kids' love it. They are teenagers lol. I love everything Xmas hence the title thread. I'm looking at real Xmas trees at the moment but they seem to be hugely expensive £45+. I can't justify the expense. I guess the fake one is coming down again sigh. Nothing quite like pine tree smell.

I'm hoping for an Apple TV and a bigger hard drive for my crummy windows vista laptop. No point wishing for a new iMac. That's not going to materialise.

Here is Santa's grotto in Bromley. There wasn't much point waiting for it to open :). So, I met up with friends in the near by Costa for a gingerbread latte and chocolate twist pastry.

Our year 11's put on a Xmas dinner for the local pensioners last week of the Xmas term. They love doing it. They all help out and the guests thoroughly enjoy being entertained. There is a Santa, a choir and orchestra. The younger kids do mini Xmas pantos. I love it. We also finish early too. I think it's the 21st this year.
