Facebook has been working for a while on Project Spartan, which is designed to compete against Apple’s App Store to a certain extent. The social networking site is planning to build a web platform, developed entirely in HTML 5, which will offer iOS users web apps similar to those available in Apple’s virtual store. The main idea is to allow Safari users to access Facebook’s new virtual store where they will find all sort of apps, from games to magazines. Of course, users will need to purchase the apps first and only then will they be able to access them via Internet connection.
