The scent of grapefruit on women make them seem about six years younger to men. Several middle-aged women were smeared with different subjects, such as brokkoli, banana and lavender. None of these made a difference, but when men had to estimate the age of women with grapefruit odor, it was considerably less than in reality.
We'll all be diving into a pool of fresh grapefruit juice soon, eh?? :)
 
In July 2008, a beach (approximately 500 truckloads of white sand) was stolen in Jamaica. The theft was considered so important that the police had to carry out forensic tests on other beaches to find out if any of it matched the stolen sand. The sand still is missing.

I wonder if they investigated if there was someone wealthy living nearby who owned a lot of cats;)

Oh goody. I have a grapefruit tree in the back yard!

When lightning strikes the ground, it will sometimes fuse the soil into a hollow, glass-lined tubes called a "fulgurite." This is especially common if lightning strikes a sandy area such as a beach.
 
Scientists in Bonn, Germany, found out that plants feel pain and could possibly talk to each other. To hear anything, super-sensitive microphones were used. As long as a plant is healthy, a "bubbling" sound can be heard. Under threat, it's a piercing screech. A cucumber which is starting to go off produces a squealing sound.
