The scent of grapefruit on women make them seem about six years younger to men. Several middle-aged women were smeared with different subjects, such as brokkoli, banana and lavender. None of these made a difference, but when men had to estimate the age of women with grapefruit odor, it was considerably less than in reality.

As long as a plant is healthy, a "bubbling" sound can be heard. Under threat, it's a piercing screech. A cucumber which is starting to go off produces a squealing sound.
