file sharing and edit Docs

Dear all , i am new in apple products, i have an ipad , i want to access the shared files in my network and also i want to edit word or excel files and save them.i need a free or cheap software to do this and also a good one... any one can help me? please introduce me softwares without any limitation..thank you
