File System Question

Ok, I'm completely new to iOS, I'm a Windows bigot who has now crossed over to the dark side and I LOVE IT !!!

Any way, just wondering, as I experiment and add/delete photos and apps, what happens to the underlying file system? Will it eventually get fragmented like Windows does and need to be defragmented, or do I just not worry about?

Thanks or the input, and now back to having fun.

It doesn't fragment in a way, that is common for operating systems using hard drives. The iPad uses flash memory, don't ever defragment that. It is not needed and could potentially harm the flash drive.

Defragmentation is only required for drives with physically moving parts, so the laser reading the data doesn't have to move around so much.

The iPad is straight forward to use and does require close to no maintenance, a reboot from time to time does no harm, but that is all you possibly ever have to worry about.

Sorry mate, can't let that slide without a little ribbing... Laser? Where the heck is the laser in my hard disk? Hard disks are magnetic my friend, not optical. ;)
