With the half-term holidays upon us, what better time to feature some of the excellent, and, most importantly, free children’s apps out there? Who cares if it’s raining where you are, when you’ve got great apps like these five to keep your children entertained?!

Pokémon TV
The Pokémon TV app is updated weekly from a library of more than 700 episodes from a massive 16 seasons of the TV series. You can also use the app to watch special features, trailers, and Pokémon movie events. Forget half-term, this app will keep the kids occupied all year round!

Gory Games TV Play-along
Gory Games TV Play-along is a must-have app for fans of the BBC’s top children’s TV quiz show, Gory Games. Once downloaded, you can use the app to play along with the next episode of the show. When you launch the app, it will “listen†to your TV and determine the correct episode and connect automatically. Players can then answer questions at the same time as the contestants on the TV show in a bid to win Year Spheres.

Cartoonito Fun & Games!
Cartoonito Fun & Games includes five games, as well as video clips from your favourite Cartoonito shows, plus news and information about Cartoonito shows and broadcast times. Featured games include Puzzle Pictures, Bananas in Pyjamas Colouring, Cartoonito Bubble Pop, Cartoonitos Maze, and Bananas in Pyjamas Jigsaw.

Hot Wheels Showdown
This is a fantastic free racing game where you get to race with your Hot Wheels Car Collection across four epic environments, each with its own special driving style. Players can choose from the hairpin turns in City, the all-out Race track, a dusty, bumpy Off Road track, as well as the Workshop. There are 36 tracks in all to race, and hundreds of Hot Wheels cars to unlock, as well as a Ghost mode where you can race against other players’ best times.

Garfield Living Large
The original Grumpy Cat returns with a game that is basically Garfield’s take on the My Talking Tom apps, where you get to take care of Garfield and spoil him rotten in a bid to keep him from getting too grumpy! You can dress him up, shampoo, rinse and blow-dry his fur, and also feed him. The game is also kidSAFE certified by the kidSAFE Seal Program.
