My sister-in-law recently passed away and I am trying to access the videos the funeral home put on line. I get to the funeral home web site, can see pics my brother has added. Can also read obituary. I cannot, however, open the video the funeral home created. When I click on the video, a box opens, but video does not play

More than likely, that video is in a format the iPad can't play (probably Flash). The only way you can view it is to either use a computer (PC or Mac) or get one of the browsers that can view Flash, such as iSwifter, Photon, Skyfire and Cloud Browse. There are more, those are just the most popular.
You could also try a remote remote to access your personal computer. Some of the more popular apps for this purpose are (in no particular order): Splashtop, LogMeIn and TeamViewer.
Other than that, I've got nothing. Sorry.
