Game center...again

Since the last OS update, Game Center has decided that I logged in with a silly name that I have never typed ANYWHERE. I open Settings and sign out of Game Center, but then it nags me to sign back in every time I bring one particular solitaire game to the foreground. After declining for several iterations of this cycle, it leaves me alone, for a few days. Then the whole process repeats itself. I have NEVER signed into Game Center intentionally, never used that username for anything, never felt that Game Center was anything more than a pathetic attention-getting sop for sad, lonely people. Is there any way to get rid of it permanently?

I suspect this has something to do with getting nagged to turn on 2FA after periodically being logged out of my iTunes account for no reason. I'm getting really annoyed at Apple assuming they know what I want better than I do.

On the other hand, it's hardly something that Apple makes you log into. It's something that they provide to game developers, and it is up to those developers whether to use it, and how intrusive it is. It should only come up when you open a game that is using it, and/or if a game is sending you notifications about it.

So, go into the game settings and see if you can turn off Game Center there, and also check the notifications for the game to make sure they are turned off.

Worst case, pick a name, turn off all the sharing features,, and then just don't use it.
