Using he iPad whilst charging for gaming could generate excessive heat and would not be good for the battery.

Hey! I’ve got the M4 iPad Pro too, and I always plug it in while gaming. I noticed it helps with performance and keeps the battery from wearing out too quickly. Plus, you don’t have to worry about the battery draining during a long session!
