garageband help

Hi

I'm new to the forum and to Ipad. I'm trying to record tracks on garage band and I can set automatic option for the first two tracks and record a whole song but when I try to do a third track the recording stops at random points, sometimes at 2 bars, sometimes 13, etc. How can I record 8 long tracks? I've uninstalled garageband twice on my Ipad 2 and the same thing happens.
driving me nuts.
