Get rid of items in 'purchased' on App Store - how?

my 'purchased' list is clogged with Apps I've tried and discarded. How do I permwnantly remove them - not just hide' them?

You can't permanently remove any items from your App Store purchased history, all you can do is hide the unwanted items as you've already discovered. The same conditions also apply to any other iTunes content such as movies, music, and TV shows.
