Well with my almost shiny secondhand iPad 3 that a flat mate pritty much porned off to me, so he could go from WiFi to 3G (in Australia here), got to love those with OCD.

I have been having a few worring thoughts, I was pritty much given the iPad still with all the guys stuff on it, so I did the erase and wipe thing to clean off half of the weard **** this guy's is into. After forgeting where I have left the iPad I went into iCloud to locate it, well I left it on a table on the house and got it back easly. After about three hours of mind numing google searching and through out all of that I can accross a few interesting things with how apple dose stuff.

Anyway with editing some settings I have one question:

If I lost my iPad and someone handed it into an Apple store, would Apple staff see my details or my flat mates details?

If you are bothered, lock it with a Passcode. Your data will be safe then, but don't forget the Passcode, or it'll be safe from you too.

Having a password is good, even if it's not lost, its to keep those unwanted family fingers getting to play with it.

Assuming you mean if they looked up the owner Information based on serial number it'll show his as the original purchaser and yours as the most recent registered owner if you went through the complete registration process after he gave it to you and you wiped it clean.

Yes, that is what I asked, thank you.

It is nice to know at least they can then call me if that ever happends, hopfully I never miss place it again. But the last thing I want is it to be left on Jame's desk, that is what happend to about six weeks worth of my letters.
