What's new

We've been using mac products since the mid-80's ( and yes, I know that's longer than many of you have been around ). I'm fairly proficient at figuring out how to figure things out on a mac Os or iOs . . . if I can figure out what they're called!

That problem started even before we committed to only-mac products. When our sons were very young, we bought a PC, Jr. I took it out of the box and opened the manual and the first sentence read something like "boot up the hard drive and then . . .". WHAT?!? what in the heck does footwear and driving have to do with operating a computer?

Macs are a lot more intuitive and pre-loaded with the basics, but I'm sad to say that people in IT, should have average folks write translations. And Apple's manuals and tutorials are imho some of the worst. They are more like marking materials saying things like "you can do this, and you can do that . . . but rarely tell specifically HOW to.

Please don't take it wrong, but I'm not likely to be chatty. I'll just be looking for answers but will offer suggestions to other's questions if I happen to notice something that I know the answer to.

Thanks to all of you out there who can help!
