Have an ipad and an ipad2 - does the ipad 1 do multi-tasking of apps?

when i do the four finger swipe on the ipad 2 it moves from open app to open app === the ipad 1 doesn't do that -- both have the same operating system iox 5. Is this behavior correct - or do i have something not set up correct? Thanks for your help in advance. Dave

There should be a mutlitouch/gestures switch in Settings. If not, you need to update your iPad 1 to 5.0.1. Apple did not include gestures for iPad 1 in the original iOS 5.0

Jeeper is right, the gestures came in 5.0.1 for the ipad1, you can do the upgrade from your iPad and only takes about 5 minutes. Go to Settings - General - Software update, it's up the top.
