I've been a lurker on this site for some time and figure I'd pop in and say hi. I'm a 26 year old IT guy from SoCal and I love technology. I must tinker and customize everything I get my hands on!
A little history on me; I'm a dedicated Android fan and I personally hate Apple. I don't hate their products. I hate the company. Despite how I feel about the company, my work recently gave me an iPad to see if it would help with mobile tasks when on the move. At first I felt it was like acid in my hands and burned me. Like a vampire being sprayed with holy water. It couldn't do some of the simplest things. All my android devices could do them, but the apple device could not. This frustrated me beyond belief. I felt pigeon-holed into using a device the way "Apple wanted" me to.
But after some research, I stumbled upon these forums. It wasn't long until I jailbroke the device. All of a sudden, I could do the things I had wanted to, but couldn't. I could customize it to "MY" personality. Not what APPLE thought it should be. I finally felt like I had a great device that would aid me in what I needed it to do at work.
Since jailbreaking the iPad, I must say, I love it! I can run custom applications, tether, modify the theme, edit root files, etc. I can do whatever I want to it! It has ran flawlessly since then and I haven't had a single issue. My wife liked it so much, she bought one. I did the same thing to hers and she can't be without it. She uses it for her grocery list, baby appointments, skype with her mother in another country and more.
Regardless of how I feel about the company, they make a great product and I'm extremely happy with it. I hope to learn more things from this forum and make my iPad even better with the help of you all. Thanks for reading!
TLDR Version;
Android guy, hates apple, loves iPad.
