Hi,

I am newbie with iPad and trying to connect my non airprint printer with my iPad2
I've installed the iPrint&Scan Apps from apps store but still not able to connect. . It says I have to makesure the machine and iOs device are on same network.
The printer manufacture and type is Brother MFC 5460CN , and I do not have the budget to replace with newer / compatible printer at the moment. Is it possible for me to print from iPad ? if yes Would somebody help me guide how to set it up the right way? Thank you so much .

Hi Reefer - welcome to the forum! :) Please provide some further information: 1) Assume you have a computer - if so, please provide brand/model/OS installed?; 2) Home network setup - type of modem, router, and ISP?; and 3) If your printer works w/ your computer (please verify), is the connection wired (how) or wireless.

I'll stop there to let you answer - your printer is not on the 'AirPrint compatible' list on Apple support, so another solution is needed; also check the Brother Website - there may be an explanation/directions there or web-based support (I recently exchanged emails w/ them trying to get an older brother laser to work wirelessly - failed but they were responsive) - good luck! Dave

Hi, reefer! Welcome to iPF!

The app doesn't support printing with your printer. Sorry!
You'll have to look for other ways to print files from your iPad.
