Help with new iPad2

I have a new iPad2 with 4.3.1. It was never updated and I'm not able to get 4.3.3 on it. Any ideas?
Thanks you.

The latest version of iOS, the iPad's operating system, is 4.3.5. Only that version - and no other whatsoever - is now available.

At the bottom of my thread pages - ￿yesterday - was an advertising link which proclaimed to be able to jailbreak an iOS device of 4.3.5. It seemed to be in dissagreement with all the comments about it here, and yet, there it was.

How can the forum be allowing those links if it is not a valid proceedure?

Not sure why my above post shows no text in the reply. It should have contained this:

I see now that one can not copy and paste text into these reply boxes. That's strange. I'll retype.

If you can provide details we will get it addressed. It might come as a surprise to you Brian, but we don't get to control every single advert that appears on the internet. Like any business we get our advertising provided to us as a service by various providers including Google. There are an unfathomable number of advert page impressions every day. Some of the content will be driven by cookies based on sites you have visited from your PC. Not everyone gets to see the same ads. I visited the HP website yesterday and I can tell you all the adverts on here today have been showing me HP.
Sometimes things which shouldn't appear do, and when those are pointed out to us, then we take action.

For the avoidance of doubt 4.3.5 can be jailbroken (tethered) on any device EXCEPT the iPad2. Any site / service telling you otherwise is lying, especially if they are trying to sell you a jailbreaking service. Let us know what it is and we will see what can be done.

Hope that clarifies.

Tim, I guess you could see the text that I could not.

Ok, I missed that part, but still seem to remember seeing "Untethered" mentioned there. I'm sure the advertiser was being purposfully unclear about it all in order to lure unsuspecting and inexperienced prospective buyers into the web.

Thanks,

Thanks for the clarification and writing. I understand more about it now. The link that is contained at the bottom now is still about jailbreaking, but is different from the one I saw yesterday, so I can't comment further about what it really contained. I try not to be roped in by unusual claims, but it did raise one of my eyebrows.

Thanks again,

No bother. All my links at the bottom seem to be targeted to me specifically. Again, today they are for iPad accessories I presume since I have been browsing a lot of those recently.

I suspect if you clear all your cookies you won't see that stuff any more. They will be related to an iPhone site / blog you have visited in the past.

Nice discussion, this is one of the better forums out there. Can anyone tell me what the best option is for my iPad2: Stay with 4.3.1 or go to the latest IOS? All this in hope to be able to JB it.
Thanks you all a lot.

The best advice is always to stay on the lowest firmware possible in the absence of blobs to give yourself the best possible chance of a jailbreak. You would cry if a 4.3.1 JB was released tomorrow and you upgraded to 4.3.5 today. Unless there is a feature you can't live without, and for 4.3 to 4.3.5 that is unlikely, then stay where you are...
