Help!!!

I updated my I pad and it asked me to connect to I tunes I did that and now my i pad just keeps switching itself on and off??? The battery also will not charge I have tried the reboot thing with the top and bottom buttons but does not respond!!! I really don't know what to do can anyone help me?????? Any suggestions welcome xx
