Hi Everyone..

Good to see a dedicated forum for iPad users..Loved the discussion group and hope to continue my journey here.

I am big fan of apple products and after 1 year gap i am planning to switch to apple products again ( I quit using my iPhone 4 last year)..

I am actually planning to get an iPad. I want some suggestions from you all.

Main purpose of my iPad would be reading books (pdf), Working on Word,Excel & Powerpoint, I play games sometime but not a hardcore gamer. So I don't think i need HD iPad 3 for gameplay experience. If I buy a iPad 1 3g+wifi and want to use all latest apps out in appstore would it be possible to install those new apps in ipad 1?

Is there any specific apps which are only developed for ipad 2 & 3?

If i buy ipad 1 then is there any chance of getting a weak battery life?

I would appreciate if any expert help me on this issue. i don't want to spend 900$+ for ipad now. So looking for iPad 1 at cheaper price.

Thanks in advance.

Go for an iPad 2. They don't sell the iPad 1 new anymore. You should be able to pick up the 2 in most sizes. They are hundreds cheaper than the iPad 3 versions.

All apps will run on a 2, can be upgraded to the latest iOS 6, and at least you will have cameras, where the 1 does not.

New 16GB iPad 2's are still being sold by Apple. They offer them starting at US$399.00, wifi only.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

I would not be buying an Ipad1 at this stage. Updates have now ceased to be available for it and as it has limited ram (256mb) apps of the future may not be able to run on it properly without crashing issues, it really is outdated now I'm sorry to say.
