Often when I create & send a "new" email, the copy attaches to an existing thread, what am I doing wrong & can I separate these posts to different threads ?

Hi, welcome to iPF!

It shouldn't happen again, if you go to Settings - Mails, Contacts, Calendars - Mail - Organize by Thread, and turn that off.

Worded my problem wrongly, i meant when I often start a "new" mail it often attaches itself to an existing thread therefore sits on top of another current thread.

I believe threads are created based on the subject line. Is it possible you are using similar or the same subject lines as an existing thread when creating the new emails?

Do you mean heading in the "Subject" box ?

The "new" emails referred to always have a new & different heading in the "subject" box

Yes. I meant the subject line/box.

If the subjects are different I'm at a loss as to what's going on.

Out of curiosity: I don't know if Hotmail's webmail has threads, but if it does, do the emails end up in the same threads there? That might be a clue you could follow.
