How can I download movies i have on DVD to my ipad 2 using my PC?

I'm going to be flying a lot soon and want to watch movies on my iPad. I'm not very apple friendly (PC and Android user ). How would I go about this? Is there a program that I can download to my iPad that I can just buy them and watch from there?

Use handbrake to convert the files (there are some apple friendly presets in the program) and upload them to your iPad either by using iTunes or most media players in the app store have their own method of putting them on your iPad.

iTunes Store is the place to buy or rent Movies. Either from your iPad or iTunes on PC or Mac.

Some airlines offer WiFi now. If you want to stream movies try "Crackle" (free in iTunes Store)
