how do I find my iPad?

I've set my iPad function 'Find my iPad" ON. Great - but if someone steals my iPad, how can I (or the Police) then find it?

NB this is a serious question: a friend has just had his iPad nicked but says he disabled that function and now wishes he hadn't.

You find it through www.icloud.com

There's also an app called find iPhone, on my home screen. I know this won't help if it gets stolen but you can find your friends if they have this feature turned on just by entering the correct iTunes email and password for their device. Otherwise it would be iCloud for your needs.
