boomer1 said:Yeah, I probably will at some time. However, due to past bad experiences with the current U.S. cellular providers partnered with Apple, it won't be anytime soon. ...
tlbaker said:Really, what experiences have you had with them?

boomer1 said:Billing issues with Verizon, and service coverage issues,in the Seattle area, with AT&T.
boomer1 said:I currently have an AT&T 3G iPad2 with no cellular plan. It works for me, however I would like to see T-mobile as a cellular partner in the U.S.
tlbaker said:I think it depends on where you live how well the service works. I am in NYC where Verizon and AT&T works pretty well except for Verizon data in my apartment. Verizon gave me a free network extender which only works well in only back of my apartment - bedrooms, bathroom and of course NOT in my combined living room and kitchen where I spend most of my time. Might be a firewall, a literal firewall (fireproofing materials in the wall that separates the front and back of my apartment). AT&T works great in my building - towers right outside my building.
T-Mobile and Sprint don't do too well from here from what I understand.

boomer1 said:Yeah, I hear you about cell coverage. I live about 1/2 mile away from T-mobile corporate HQ, I have GREAT cell coverage at home & also usually enjoy good coverage in most of the Puget Sound area. Verizon can be spotty like you describe and a lot of dropped calls with AT&T (as described by friends/acquaintances who use those carriers).
