Battery Life

I failed to mention that the battery life of a Kindle is two weeks which is huge compared to the iPad. Also at $360 per year for 3G on the iPad I get paypack very quickly.

I lined up at BB when it was released on April 3rd. It was the best experienced and it was worth lining up for. I'm just glad to be part of this sudden and surprising iPad phenomena. :)

IPhone4 precursor to iPad2

I'm glad I waited before buying the iPad. It seems from what Steve Jobs has stated that the iPhone is the platform for initial deployment of features that will show up on the iPad later.

I expect to see a front-facing camera and a gyroscope on the iPad in the next release plus a few other goodies. Maybe in time for the Christmas season 2010.

I delayed my purchase of the Kindle until the price went down to $189 but it's hard to resist at that price. No network charges, fast downloads plus 10 days of battery life - what a deal! Mine's on its way.

I just ordered my 2nd one, only 16 G,the wife wanted one to play games on. Happy to buy her one now she will leave my 32 G alone.
Its still a 4 week wait for one,all my local store are out of them and I was told they have no idea when they come in, so its the main Apple on-line store again.

Waiting for iPad 3

I will wait for version 2. No camera for iChat and no flash support. The 6" Kindles is lighter, costs $250 with free high-speed networking. I am looking for an eReader and my iPod Touch or MacBook Pro does the rest.

The iPad 2 is good but I decided to wait for iPad 3 which will be closer to what I wanted out of version 1. I decided to buy an iPad 2 for my wife and she loves it. I would like to see higher resolution and better cameras. It would be nice to see Siri incorporated also because I think Siri is another groundbreaker, at least it will be when it matures. I expect Apple will incorporate it into their new TV interface.

In the meantime I've signed up for a Kindle Fire for which I used some Amazon gift vouchers and $100. Movies and TV shows for $80/year is not bad. Goodbye Netflix! 2-day shipping from Amazon is also nice given how much I buy from them.
