Thanks for all the great information..........this will be so cool. ;)

That is great news, I have two, not that I really need two as its small enough to carry between TV sets, but whilst I'm not using it all day long I do get plenty of use out of them......make sure that you download Apples Remote App https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/remote/id284417350?mt=8 as it will make using the Apple TV easier especially when searching, etc.

You are going to love the Apple TV if you need to do anything with your iPad on your TV. It is a great device. It can stream your music, videos from any device connected running iTunes as well as AirPlay and screen mirroring from your iOS devices. We use it most for sharing photos, slideshows and iMovie movies from vacation photos and videos. Of course, watching HD quality movies from iTunes isn't too shabby either. Look in the app store for the Apple TV remote app for the iPad so you can control the AppleTV from your iPad screen.

Got it marked for download..........thanks.

You guys know how this works if you have 2 iPads running at the same time?
The first one with access to Apple TV locks out the 2nd one?
Don't want my wife overriding my Apple TV. :D

I'm pumped......Having a blast with the iPad 4 and all you can do. Loads of fun to be had.

I use remote on my iPad and iPhone to control iTunes. I assume it will work the same way on AppleTV. Both devices work interchangeably. Setting up an "up next" playlist on the iPad results in the playlist being visible on the iPhone, where tracks can be added.

That's my understanding that if one idevice is using the ATV than another cannot during that time.

I've never tried it but I think trying to access one ATV with two iDevices at the same time could be a recipe for disaster......I feel like testing it......but then again......I don't!

I maybe mistaken but I'm pretty sure that my wife has bumped me off before. So if I'm correct, a second i-device can jump into the mix even when a first i-device seems to have the right of way!

If its a ipad 1 - ipad 3, you need a HDMI cable, .....

This information was pretty useful, because after working out the cables and connection sequence, I managed to get the 1G iPad connected. Neat. One point. My 3G does connect with AirPlay, not needing the cables or connector. You do need IOS 6 however.

Sure glad my husband doesn't have an iPad than!

OK.....got my Apple TV today.

All I can say is you guys were 100% correct in stating it's a great device.
Took me no time at all to setup and it works awesome..........love it!
No glitches or goofy setup stuff...it just plain works.

Thanks!
